About Jurong East
Home to 90,000 heartlanders, Jurong East is a vibrant town in the west region of Singapore. Often misunderstood as being an out-of-the-way town, it boasts facilities and attractions that give popular estates a run for its money. Places like the Science Centre and the International Business Park, Singapore's first business park are located here. Nature lovers in need of a green retreat often head down to the Chinese or Japanese Gardens, with its lush scenery surrounding the always serene Jurong Lake. If the outdoor heat doesn't appeal to you, drop by Snow City Singapore to experience a 'winter getaway' in the heart of the tropics. Shopping amenities are also abundant, as there are pockets of neighbourhood shopping clusters around the town to suit the needs of every resident. IMM, the biggest shopping mall in Jurong East, is only a stone's throw away from Jurong East MRT station. The URA has also recently announced that the area surrounding the MRT station will be developed into a commercial hub consisting of office space, retail, F&B and entertainment centres and even a hotel. Sounds like the tag 'out of the way' will no longer be associated with Jurong East very soon. In the meantime, here are some shopping gems that can be found around this town.
